Tłı̨chǫ Behchokǫ̀ Government offices will be closed at noon and will resume normal business hours on Monday April 14th, 2025.

The Community Government of Behchokǫ̀ is excited to host the 2025 Spring Carnival this weekend! Chief Clifford Daniels has declared a half-day civic holiday for the Behchokǫ̀ community to celebrate the festivities on April 11, starting at noon.

Brought to you by many members of the community, there are many activities for citizens of all ages! Check the full schedule below for all the exciting events, including:

  • Spring Carnival Royalty Pageant: Contestants are preparing for an exciting competition! Each participant is working hard to raise funds and showcase their leadership within the community.
  • Craft Market: Open on April 11, 12, and 13 from 1 PM to 5 PM.
  • Cash Raffle Draw: Scheduled for April 13

And many more!

Some activities require early registration to participate:

  • Carnival Cup 3v3 Hockey Tournament: by April 10, $150 registration fee/team
  • Cribbage Tournament: April 11 & 12 at 12:00pm
  • Skidoo Drag Races (weather permitting): April 13 from 9 AM to 10 AM
  • Talent Show: April 13 from 10am to 12:30pm

Most events will take place at the Kǫ̀ Gocho Sportsplex Centre, but don’t forget to partake in activities at the Cultural Centre and Elizabeth Mackenzie Elementary School such as Dog sled rides and Dene Handgames!

This new strategy will identify goals and actions that will strengthen the NWT tourism industry and increase visitor spending in all regions.

The meeting provides an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and ideas on the future of tourism in your community, region and territory.
