Department of Culture and Lands Protection (DCLP) is seeking individuals interested in working casually at the upcoming Tłı̨chǫ Ekwǫ̀ Gathering from May 6-8, 2025.

The Tłı̨chǫ Į̨mbè Program Manager is accountable for the planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of the Tłı̨chǫ Įmbè Program by: planning, leading and participating in Group Leader Training; Providing leadership to the Tłı̨chǫ Įmbè program; developing schedules, budgets, logistics, and contingency plans for the summer program; providing logistical and administrative support for the program; providing interpersonal support to the Assistant Manager and Team leaders; and evaluating the Tłı̨chǫ Įmbè Program.
The incumbent will work closely with Community Directors to ensure that human and material resources are available in each community as needed for the program. Following the program, the Internship - Tłı̨chǫ Įmbè Program Manager will create an evaluation, make recommendations and formulate a plan for the following year.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Minimum High School Diploma.
Experience with Program Development and Program Management.
Experience with Scheduling, Budgeting and Logistical Planning.
Ability to lead small groups and work with Tłı̨chǫ community members particularly Elders
Very good motivation, team building, organizational, administrative and communication skills.
Be able to work independently and follow directions.
Have very good interpersonal, feel comfortable asking questions and for help.
Demonstrate good judgment in terms of safety issues and good problem-solving skills.
Being bilingual in English and Tłı̨chǫ Yati is a strong asset
Previous experience in the Įmbè Program is required.
The Tłı̨chǫ Įmbè Program (TĮP) is designed to support high school and post-secondary students, who have been away from their home communities during the school year, with an opportunity to reconnect with their language and culture during the summer. The Assistant Program Manager will participate in all aspects of program planning, development, promotion, implementation and evaluation of the program. The incumbent will oversee and support 5 Team Leaders and help with technical skills, interpersonal training and skill development and logistical and strategic planning.
The Assistant Program Manager will need to travel to each community, support and evaluate each community’s program, work closely with Community Directors, ensure Elders and teaching materials are available, make recommendations and formulate a plan for the following year.

Five Positions, Summer Students- (1 each in Whatı̀, Wekweètı̀ and Gamètı̀ & 2 in Behchokǫ̀)
OUTLINE OF THE POSITION:
The Tłı̨chǫ Įmbè Team Leader is responsible for learning, organizing, leading, participating in and evaluating activities including: Tłı̨chǫ culture and traditional lifestyle activities, Safety certificate program and Life skills programs and for providing support and leadership to a small group throughout the summer both on the land and in the community, under the supervision of Program managers, Elders and Tłı̨chǫ Government staff. Team Leaders are expected to set an example through their behavior by contributing to the community in a positive and meaningful way.
ELIGIBILITY:
Priority will be given to applicants currently enrolled in, planning to attend, be returning to, or beginning full-time studies at a recognized post-secondary institution, in the fall.
Successful candidates will need to submit a current Criminal Record Check.
Ability to speak and understand Tłı̨chǫ Yati is an asset.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
3 days of mandatory training on the land in June 2025.
Administrative tasks for a group of 6 participants including: timesheets, waivers, new hire forms, etc.
Working with, supporting and coordinating activities on the land with Elders.
Develop Schedules, Budgets and Program Ideas.
Plan and participate in Community Service projects and prepare contingency plans.
Provide logistical and administrative support for the program.
Organize, learn and participate in cultural, traditional, linguistic and on-the-land activities.

OUTLINE OF THE POSITION:
The Receptionist is accountable for providing administrative support for the Gamètì Presence Offices by acting as a first point of contact and providing operational support, providing administrative support for the Community Director and other presence office employees and ensuring all Tłı̨chǫ Government office equipment in the presence office is maintained.The Receptionist will provide operational support for the Community Presence office by receiving residents and visitors.
The incumbent will provide administrative support for the Director and department employees by tracking and posting staff schedules, assisting in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and conference telephone calls/ZOOM/Teams including catering, coordinating staff meetings including contacting participants and arranging rooms, and snacks/refreshments, taking minutes as requested and tracking meeting follow-up and activities.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Completion of an office procedures and/or administration program.
Experience with filing systems and procedures.
Experience with office administration and receptionist services.
Good computer skills and the ability to establish and maintain electronic databases and filing systems and use Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and the Internet for research purposes.
Ability to set up Zoom/Team Meetings.
Very good organizational and time management skills.
Positive attitude and work ethics.
Good problem-solving abilities.
Very good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language is strongly recommended.

Ekwǫ̀ Nàxoèhdee K’è - Boots on the Ground program is looking for people to work as caribou monitors on the barrenlands in July, August and September. The job requires working two or three weeks at one of our camps at Kokètì, Deèzàatì or Ek'atì.

OUTLINE OF THE POSITION:
The Early Childhood Assistant is responsible to assist in planning and implementing programs to care for children aged 0-12 and to assist in providing information and resources to parents through drop-in play and learning opportunities to encourage healthy child development and positive parenting. The Early Childhood Assistant must ensure development and safety of these children in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
The Early Childhood Assistant is expected to have the following education, work experience and skills (equivalencies will be considered).
Grade 10, experience working with children and equivalencies will be considered.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks (must be updated every 3 years and provide an annual statement on any outstanding criminal charges as needed)
Up to date certification in First Aid/CPR is required and/or training will be provided.
All Immunizations/TB Record must be up to date (with an annual medical check-up)
Ability to speak Tłı̨ chǫ; knowledge of Tłı̨ chǫ history and culture; experience working with special needs children, and Class 5 driver’s license are assets.
Willingness to enroll and complete courses in an Early Childhood Certificate and Diploma, and to participate in annual professional development.
Positive respectful attitude, flexibility, dependability, self-motivation, sound work ethic and required to follow the code of ethics of a professional childcare provider.
Knowledge of current early childhood program practices and strategies; of social, community and other challenges experienced by children and families and of how to access community services and resources.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting with children, parents, staff and community agency representatives; manage several tasks at one time; and work independently.
