The First Nations Major Project Coalition is a national 170+ collective group of First Nations made up of elected councils, hereditary Chiefs, Tribal Councils and Development Corporations, who have made the decision to come together to advance our shared interests of participating, and where appropriate gaining equity positions in the major projects taking place in our territories.
At the Coalition, we believe that economic opportunities must go hand in hand with environmental stewardship which is why we also provide technical support to First Nations in conducting impact assessments and environmental reviews in accordance with their laws and values. We are paving the way for a brighter future in this country – one that will bring about positive outcomes in terms of Indigenous peoples having a greater role in the economy and in terms of the environmental legacies we will leave for the enjoyment of our future generations.

Job Opportunity: Casual Night Security - Recreation Facility

The Community Government of Behchokǫ̀ is seeking a dedicated and responsible Casual Security to ensure public safety and provide a secure environment for the Recreation Facility. This position will require the individual to act as a visible presence to deter any potential disturbances and maintain order within the facility, ensuring all users can enjoy the space safely. The successful candidate will report directly to the Facility Maintainer and assist with maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide security coverage for the Recreation Facility, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all patrons.
- Monitor facility premises, check for any hazards, and report issues to the Facility Maintainer.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Assist with crowd control and respond to disturbances in a professional and calm manner.
- Provide assistance to staff and patrons when necessary, including emergency situations.
- Patrol indoor and outdoor areas of the facility to ensure all areas are secure.
- Report and document any incidents or security concerns.
- Provide support in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid when required.
Qualification/Requirements:
- Must be 19+ Years or older
- Must have First Aid
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in both English and Thch, language would be an asset
- Must be bondable and submit to a criminal record check as a prerequisite
- Ability to handle conflict situations professionally and calmly.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
