OUTLINE OF POSITION:

The Administrative Assistant is accountable for providing administrative support and executive level services for the Community Presence Office and staff, and is responsible to providing logistical support; managing and preparing correspondence and communications for Community Director and Chief; liaising with other individuals and groups on behalf of the Community Presence Office, and must abide by all relevant Tłı̨chǫ Government’s Administrative Policies and Procedures and must adhere to strict confidential practices and protocol.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Office administration diploma and/or four (4) years related work experience, and equivalencies be considered
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, computer, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with wide range of different community members and partners, and work as a member of a team
  • Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language is strongly recommended
  • Ability to establish and maintain electronic data bases and filing systems; use Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and the Internet for research purposes; to set up meetings on ZOOM and TEAMS and solving issues
  • Sensitive for the need of confidentiality in dealing with data, records and meetings
  • Positive attitude and work ethic; and adhere to the Tłı̨chǫ Government’s Code of Ethics
  • Familiarity with the Tłı̨chǫ Agreement, Constitution, Culture, Community and Traditions are all assets.

OUTLINE OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Recruitment Coordinator Trainee is responsible for administering, implementing and assisting with the recruitment and selection processes to ensure the recruitment of prospective candidates and a skilled workforce, in compliance with the Tłı̨chǫ Government's Administrative Policies and Procedures. The Recruitment Coordinator Trainee is held accountable for making decisions without bias and always maintaining professionalism. The incumbent will work closely with the human resources team, managers, directors and executives to monitor and support all departments.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Completion of High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of relevant Tłı̨chǫ Government Administrative Policies and Procedures
  • Familiarity with employee recruitment and selection processes is preferred
  • Ability to operate computer programs, Teams, Zoom, emails, internet
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to make effective decisions and solve issues or problems
  • Strong professional, interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work as a member of a diverse team
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to manage filing systems, meetings and interviews 
  • Provide follow-up and recommendation reports
  • Familiarity with the Tłı̨chǫ language, culture and way of life
  • Ability to speak the English and Tłı̨chǫ languages is an asset
  • Willingness to travel to the Tłı̨chǫcommunities

Volunteer training Whatì is November 25-27, 2024 and will include:

  • Training and practice on CIVTP UFile tax software
  • Registering you with CRA's Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)
  • Getting access to electronic filing and other CVITP resources
  • Helping you get your CRA MyAccount Access - if you don't already have it
  • Assigning you a dedicated laptop for tax preparation
  • On-going training, assistance, and troubleshooting will be provided for volunteers through Zoom throughout the tax season

Volunteers should:

  • Be trusted by their community
  • Be eager to contribute to their community
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Be able to pass a criminal record check
  • Have a cellphone to receive security codes from CRA
  • Have or be able to open a CRA MyAccount
