  • DEPARTMENT: Community Social Programs
  • POSITION TITLE: Manager, Wellness Social Program 
  • STATUS: Full Time / Term from August 15, 2014 – August 14, 2015

OUTLINE OF THE POSITION:

The Manager Community Programs is responsible for managing, coordinating and supporting the delivery of a range of public and First Nations health, wellness and education programs and undertaking action research projects to address health and social issues in the region by: developing project proposals for submission to funding agencies and managing the contribution agreements for approved projects; developing and coordinating an action plan for approved projects; managing the implementation of Tłı̨chǫ Government wellness and social programs; conducting community-based action research to identify needed projects; provide programmatic and administrative support for the media production and training efforts of the Social/Wellness Program Coordinators; and, developing a communications plan to inform people about the community intervention programs and projects. The Manager Community Programs will oversee between 4-5 staff. 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Degree from a university in a field related to health, social services or business administration and four to five years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Knowledge of and how to access community resources and services
  • Familiarity with wellness programs and knowledge of proposal writing, budgeting and reporting on program delivery.
  • Excellent working knowledge of community based research.
  • Must have a valid up-to-date CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Must have all immunizations up-to-date.
  • Good understanding and commitment to Tłı̨chǫ cultural values and way of life and the ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ Language is an asset.
