We want this site to be a celebration of all things Tåîchô. Our traditional lands are a vast area of boreal forests, waterways, and tundra stretching from the northern shores of Great Slave Lake to almost touch the southern shores of Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada. From the borders of Nunavut in the east towards the Mackenzie River in the west, our land is rich in wildlife and other resources.
During the first few months of 2009 the Tlicho Government sponsored photo workshops for our personnel along with a few high school students in all four Tlicho communities including Behchoko, Whati, Wekweeti and Gameti. The workshops were attended by a total of some 30 participants. The quality of the imagery is impressive and much of it has already been put to good use in the annual report of the Tlicho Government.

The Tåîchô Historical Archive website documents the long history of the Tåîchô Land Claims and Self Government Agreement. Beginning with the signing of Treaty 11 by Chief Monfwi in 1921, this site documents all the milestones on the way to August 4, 2005 – Effective Day for the Tåîchô Agreement and the beginning of a new period in the history of Tåîchô.
At www.tlichohistory.com, you can look at archival photographs, read the text of the actual Treaties and Agreements, and learn about the legal documents through plainspeak explanations. You can even watch the video of Gonaewo - the history of Tåîchô Treaty negotiations.
