Tlicho Citizens make to the Slo-Pitch Nationals

The 2 Base Allstars qualified for Slo-Pitch Nationals last year for the 2nd time in a row, throughout the year we fundraised and played in the A division in Yellowknife’s Slopitch league. We were able to help pay for t shirts, flights, gas, hotel, and even rented a house for the team while in Calgary.  Nationals took place July 28th to August 1st, we had 2 early morning games that got rained out, before the trip we were worried about the minor flooding in some areas of Calgary, but all in all we had a great time helping each other out, all other teams loved us, we gave out pins, put the flag up each game, and everyone was so thankful that NWT came to play! Great time had by all, and the organizers wanted to personally make sure our awesome team came back to play again!

We all had a great time playing together for the summer, and now this year we are looking at attending nationals next year for the 3rd time in a row! We have a full year of planning and working on our goal for next year’s Nationals Slopitch Championships! Wish us luck!
