In a collaborative effort, the Department of Culture and Lands Protection and the Department of Healing and Community Wellness will be hosting Tłı̨chǫ Hide Tanning Camp. The camp will be held from September 18 – October 2nd, 2024 at the Wekweètì Culture Camp. We are seeking Participants to come and learn from amazing Elders and Knowledge Keepers the skill of traditional hide tanning. Come and experience 14 days of knowledge sharing, laughter, learning, eating and camping on the land!
Travel costs to Wekweètì and Accommodations at the Culture camp will be provided!
Meals and Training Allowance will also be provided.
The Department of Culture and Lands Protection is excited to be hosting another hide camp, we will make efforts to host hide camp in a different Tłı̨chǫ Community each year.
