Tłı̨chǫ Artisan and Artists Strategy

The Tłı̨chǫ Artisan and Artists Strategy (the Strategy) is a document commissioned by the Tłı̨chǫ Government on behalf of the four Tłı̨chǫ Communities and the Tłı̨chǫ Regional Economic Development Working Group (Working Group). The document provides recommendations focusing on how each Tłı̨chǫ community, can work independently and together to:
Develop collaborative partnerships in the Tłı̨chǫ region for the development of a long term, ongoing framework, and strategic economic development plans that meet client, community, and regional goals and objectives.

Tłı̨chǫ Tourism Strategy

Tłı̨chǫ Region Tourism Strategy is part of the implementation plan for the overarching Tłı̨chǫ Regional Training and Development Strategy and has been prepared to support the objectives of the TREDWG.

The Tłı̨chǫ are a united people and believe in collective responsibility.  Tłı̨chǫ unity is based on preserving, protecting and promoting the Tłı̨chǫ language, culture and way of life. Consensus decision-making process is the traditional Tłı̨chǫ governance system and the Tłı̨chǫ Government shall abide by this tradition. All Tłı̨chǫ leaders are role models and leaders must act in the most respectful manner. Tłı̨chǫ leaders shall follow the principles of the Tłı̨chǫ Constitution,  Tłı̨chǫ  Agreement and  Tłı̨chǫ Laws.

Early Childhood Strategy and Framework

On May 16, 2017, the Tłı̨chǫ Government approved The Early Years: An Early Childhood Strategy and Framework. The Strategy and Framework is a guiding tool for the future that sets out aspirations and desired outcomes for the youngest Tłı̨chǫ children and the children of tomorrow.

Tłįchǫ Community Government Act

Date: March 14, 2013

This Northwest Territories Bill established the community governments of Behchokǫ̀, Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì, and describes their boundaries. This Act covers the composition and role of the community council, eligibility to vote, the duties of the chief, and it details the powers of these municipalities.

Land Claims and Self-Government Agreement - Progress Report of the Implementation Committee 2005-2009

This report sets out achievements and developments from the effective date of the Agreement, August 4, 2005, through to March 31, 2009.

 

The Implementation Committee is made up of representatives from the Tłı̨chǫ Government, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and the Government of Canada (See Appendix I for a list of Committee members). The role of the Implementation Committee is to oversee, monitor, and provide direction on the implementation of the Tłı̨chǫ Agreement.

Tłįchǫ Community Services Agency Act

This Northwest Territories Bill, is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of health, education and other social programs and services to all residents in the four Tłı̨chǫ communities and on Tłįchǫ lands, based on Tłı̨chǫ Laws and NWT Laws.

This Northwest Territories Bill gave government approval to the original Tłı̨chǫ Agreement, signed in August 2003. This is the land claims and self government agreement among the Tłı̨chǫ, the Government of Canada and the Government of the Northwest Territories. The bill also approves the Tłı̨chǫTax Treatment Agreement.
