Working Level (WL) and Functional Grade Level (FGL)

Working Level is reported to parents on the student's report cards. WL is defined as what grade level of curricular outcomes a student has accomplished by the end of the year. This identifies acadeic level at which to begin next year. It is written as a whole number. Working Level is also reported on the new Student Record Folders.

Functional Grade Level is what is reported to NWT Education, Culture & Employment at the end of every school year. FGL is defined as what grade level of curricular outcomes a student has worked on for the bulk of the year. It is written as a whole number.

  • ELA is based on: NWT ELA curriculum
  • Math is basked on: WNCP Mathematics Framework and the WNCP Essentials Learning Outcomes
