In August of each year, Kindergarten teachers are expected to visit the home of each student before school actually begins. During this visit, the booklet Me, Myself, and I, should be left at the home for the child and the parents to complete. When the students arrives at school on the first day of class, they should bring this booklet with them. These booklets immediately give the teacher pictures for the bulletin board. The pictures of the family, self and the child's printing of his/her name should be kept on file. Teachers can use these work samples to show progress over time when compared to later work samples.
