Education & Training

Education programming in the Tåîchô communities includes early childhood programs and services in each community, kindergarten to grade 12 school programs and a variety of staff and community training initiatives. The schools deliver NWT education curriculum from kindergarten to grade 9.

Going Underground Drummers Gonawake

Secondary School programming is based on the Alberta secondary school curriculum. Our students write the Alberta Departmental Examinations to graduate from grade 12. The Agency has enriched the NWT/Alberta curriculum with the development of a number of local developed courses and units for CTS or Career and Technology Studies. Tlicho Healing Path Peer Support Program Peer Support for Youth 1 credit

Over the years the Agency has hosted adult and staff training for teachers, paramedics, Early Childhood Workers, counselors, aboriginal language specialists, home and continuing care aides, X-ray technicians, heavy equipment operators, welding and in linguistics, the mining trades and technology and many other areas. Courses have been delivered from the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Victoria, Keyano College, Aurora College and others.
