Details: In Tłı̨chǫ it is called “ECHI-wo”. Used to carry “ETCHI”, pounded drymeat or pounded dryfish (pemican) or sometimes ek’a (fat) or even bannoc. The main bag is unsmoked hide which contains fat without letting it soak through. It preserves without drying out the food. The drawstring top of the bag and the decorative fringes are made of softened hide.
