We want this site to be a celebration of all things Tåîchô. Our traditional lands are a vast area of boreal forests, waterways, and tundra stretching from the northern shores of Great Slave Lake to almost touch the southern shores of Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada. From the borders of Nunavut in the east towards the Mackenzie River in the west, our land is rich in wildlife and other resources.
Winds are blowing in excess of 50 km/h between Edzo and Gameti. These conditions are causing low visibility, drifting snow and snow build up on lakes.
Travel is NOT RECOMMENDED on the entire Tlicho Winter Road System at this time.

As daytime temperatures are forecasted above freezing, in order to extend the season and protect the road surface, the Tlicho Winter Roads to Whatì and Gamètì will be restricted to night travel (10:00 PM to 10:00 AM) as of 10:00 PM, on Wednesday April 10, 2013.
Please use caution when travelling on all Northwest Territories Winter Roads and watch for and slow down at rough and slippery areas. Please watch for overflows and soft areas.
