The office of the registrar for the Grand Chief Election has completed the official tally of the results. The official results show a change in the numbers but not in the results.

After re-tallying the numbers from the different polls an error was discovered from the additions the evening of the elections. The official final result released by the Registrar, Gabrielle Mackenzie Scott, confirms that Joe Rabesca has been elected as the Grand Chief of the Tlicho Government with 583 votes. Edward Erasmus came in second with 366 votes. The incumbent, George Mackenzie came in third with 341 votes and Charlie Jim Nitsiza came in fourth with 251. There were 10 ballots rejected.

The adding error made on election night results in the unofficial tally indicated that George Mackenzie received 271 votes instead of the official count of 341.

The results show that 75.1% of the 2064 eligible voters participated in the election, with 1551 people casting ballots.

It is difficult to assess the result on a community by community basis because people could vote at any one of the polling stations or by mail in ballot. A total of 54 people submitted ballots by mail.
